What to expect at Innovation Grove
Explore the camp weekly schedule and get a snapshot into all the activities that will be occurring.
A preview of our weekly themes!
We will be offering two unique weekly experiences for students. One week will focus on Technology & Engineering topics while the other will focus on General Science and Medicine topics.
Students can choose to attend both weeks or just one!
A full detailed bi-weekly daily schedule that is downloadable will be available by May!
Below are some general highlights of the activities and themes that will be covered across both weeks.
Technology & Engineering Week will cover the technology used today across engineering fields, highlighting themes like robotics, airflight, and energy. Students will build miniature catapults, their very own windmill, design and build a game, and more.
Science Week will cover technology used in chemistry, biology and medicine today covering themes like neuroimaging, EEG, therapy, and more. Students will learn about chemistry through natural dying, learn and engage in conservation and explore the human body through the lens of animation, nutrition, and neuroscience.
INNOVATION
Each day, students will learn about innovative technologies from the experts that solve real-world problems.
Through demos and interactive activities they will dive into the world of innovation.
WORLD OF THE DAYNot all innovation has to be "new" and "shiny". Many of the tools we use daily are innovative technologies created in the ancient past.
Students will explore these technological advancements and their cultures of origin through a global tour of innovation.
ENGINEERING
Students will launch themselves into the world of engineering by building their own miniature catapult. Working in a team, students will undergo the full creation life cycle - brainstorming, prototyping, designing, building and putting their creation to the test!
TIME TO ENERGIZE ⚡
How do lights work? Why do wires need to be curled?
Electricity is all around us, but it's still hard to grasp how this unseen energy works. Students will delve into the fields of energy and electricity to learn about this invisible power we use every day.
PROGRAMMING
Everyone loves playing games, but what if you could create your own game?
From conceptualization to customization, students will learn what it means to be a game developer, learn the fundamentals of computer science and be inspired by the creativity of the game world.
SCIENCE
Not only is sustainability great for the nature around us, it also involves many scientific principles!
From the chemistry of natural dyes to conservation and erosion control, students will engage with our wonderful earth by putting on their lab coats.
THE GREAT
HUMAN BODY 🧠
Nutrition, neuroscience, neuropsychology, therapy and medicine - all separate fields or all part of one science?
All of these fields involve the most fascinating scientific anomaly to exist - our own human body. Students will go on a journey of self-discovery through the lens of these various scientific fields.
